Family: Tom and Tina

We humans could stand to learn a few lessons from his attitude and behavior.

Once in a lifetime perhaps, we may meet up with a pet who is a true blessing. Jake was that kind of dog for Tom and Tina. He was a true warrior and gallant gentleman. He posed with Tina for a beautiful portrait used by the Animal Welfare League and which is on display to this day representing the loyalty and love between a pet and the beloved owner of the pet. Jake had all the gentle characteristics for which Labrador Retrievers are a respected and loved breed. He was the smart, affectionate, guard of the household and adoring playmate. He loved unconditionally and was never judgmental. We humans could stand to learn a few lessons from his attitude and behavior. Jake passed away the week of June 10, 2017. He will be sorely missed for a long time, but he will be joyously romping in heaven as he did when he was a young pup, and that is how we need to think of him. We can just imagine someone in heaven pitching a ball for Jake to chase and we will remember the Jake of his youth, scrambling to run and retrieve that ball! Happy chasing, Jake!
